"After 49 years Harry Napier retires!" | The day Harry retired, he was taken to lunch in the Braid Hills Hotel by Bob Galloway, David Vass, Dick Sillitto and their wives.![]() Click picture for Bob's view Harry, inimitable teller of 'shaggy dog stories', died on 31st December, 2005. The Galloways, David Vass, George and Barbara Bradford and I were at his funeral, as were many of the department's technical staff -- Colin Thompson, Peter Tuffy, Greg, Gordon, among those I recognised -- but most of the large gathering were friends dating from Harry's schooldays at Boroughmuir, his time in the Scout movement, and his involvement with training for First Aid. They were all convinced that THE LAB was the love of his life. And that he was one of the kindest men you could find. |
